Wow, it's been a long time since I've updated this blog! I forgot all about it. Seth is a wonderfully precocious 17-month-old who makes our life quite an adventure. He's such a funny, happy boy. He was born by C-section on February 11 at 10:29am. He was perfectly healthy and weighed 7 lbs. 3 oz. and was 19 inches long. It was love at first sight.

It's been a while!

Wow, it's been a while since I last posted! Jason and I took a wonderful 4-day trip out to Tempe, AZ last month to visit his mom. It was SOOO nice to get away. I wish we could have stayed longer.

Not a whole lot is new on the baby front. I'm getting bigger by the day, and I have mixed feelings about it. I like being noticeably pregnant, but I don't like feeling fat. I just can't get past that "chunky" feeling, especially with my belly hanging over my pants! At least I don't have any stretch marks.

My first baby shower is this weekend, and I'm very excited about it. It will be down in Bloomington with my friends and co-workers here. My mom is hosting a shower for me up in Momence in January with my family and friends there. I'm trying not to check my registry every 10 minutes to see what people have bought...LOL!

There's no hiding it now!

I have surpassed the "Is she just getting fat, or is she pregnant??" stage. There should be no question when people look at me now...LOL!

Getting bigger everyday

Now that I'm starting to show more, I catch people staring at my belly all the time. People who know I'm pregnant are fascinated with my growing tum-tum; people who don't know me are starting to give off that "Is she fat or pregnant?" stare. I'm kind of self-conscious about it (since this is the first time in my life that I've been a full-figured lady), but I mostly find it amusing. I haven't had many people want to rub my belly yet, which is good. I don't mind showing people, but I get kind of uncomfortable when people touch it. Maybe when the baby is a little bigger and actually occupies my whole mid-section I'll be more comfortable with people touching me. Right now I feel most of his kicks in my lower abdomen, so when people rub my belly, they're probably not getting much but fat!

Jason and I are going to visit his mom in Tempe, AZ next month. I'm so excited! I know I'll be 6 months pregnant, and flying probably won't be too much fun, but I can't wait to go out there. It'll be nice to get away for a few days before Seth gets here.

IT'S A BOY!!!!

I've been so busy posting my news everywhere else that I've neglected my blog!

I had my 20-week ultrasound last week, and Jason and I found out that we're having a boy!!! We were so thrilled with the news - and also with the whole experience of the ultrasound itself. It was so neat seeing his hands and feet and head on the screen. Made everything that much more real. We've decided to name him Seth, and we're already calling him by his name when we talk about him. :-) He's been a very active baby lately, and when I lie on my back, we can see him swimming around and kicking in my belly. Such a cool feeling! I'm completely fascinated with it and can lie in bed for hours just feeling him move.

I love my baby boy.

Weeeee!!!!

Jason and I were lying in bed last night, and I felt the baby moving around a lot. I put Jason's hand on my belly, and he got to feel a kick! It was a very neat moment.

Our other baby

This is Remy, my (and Jason's) other baby. He's a 3 1/2 year old pit bull/lab mix that I adopted from Second Chance for Pets in March of 2006. He's the most wonderful dog I've ever known. When he came to me as a foster, he was about 10 lbs. underweight, his paws were covered in urine burn sores from sitting in a crate full of his own urine all day every day, and he was very shy. It didn't take him long to come out of his shell and show his true colors. Remy wants nothing more than a bowl of food, a squeaky toy, and to be showered with love and affection all day long. He's changed many peoples' minds about pit bulls and pit bull mixes. When they meet him, they're usually amazed at how well behaved and sweet he is. He's a great ambassador for the pit bull breed.

He's going to be a great big brother. I can see him being very attentive to the baby. He may be a little jealous at first, but he'll get over that quickly.
